Our Values & Beliefs

  1. Our Mission

    Our Mission

We are boldly committed to reaching all peoples with the gospel, connecting them into authentic relationships regardless of life experiences, building believers into spiritually, emotionally, and relationally healthy people, and sending disciple makers into Rice Lake, Northwest Wisconsin and beyond. (Matt 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8)

  2. The 4e's

    The 4e's

By God's power and leading, Red Cedar Community Church is committed to doing anything short of sin to call and lead people into an active relationship with Jesus Christ, by turning the spiritually curious into believers (evangelizing), believers into disciples (establishing), and disciples into laborers (equipping), who as World Christians will go into all the world and develop healthy people and churches (extending).

  3. Who We Are

    Who We Are

Our ties to the Methodist church date back to the 1800's. We broke from them over the issue of slavery among other issues (we were against slavery). We are a Bible based church and would classify ourselves as biblically conservative and culturally relevant. In fact, we desire to be a church that is real, relevant, and revolutionary.

We are a part of a denomination, The Wesleyan Church (contact: www.wesleyan.org). This is advantageous for accountability purposes as well as presents us with opportunities to partner with similar minded churches to further our Lord’s kingdom. We function mostly as a community church. Our congregation is made up of people from Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, Wesleyan, Assembly of God, non-denominational and no church background. We strive to be a church that joyfully plays a sacrificial role in the growth of God’s work at home, cross-culturally, and abroad. We desire to be a church made up of people who are growing in their intimacy with God, community with other Believers, and influence on those who are yet to believe.

  4. Core Values

    Core Values

    1. Prayer:We are a church committed to powerful prayer. (Psalm 34:17; Psalm 85:1-7; Matt. 6:9-13; Matt. 7:7-8; Eph. 6:18)

    2. Bible: We are a church committed to God's Word being central to all we say and do, believing it to be inerrant, authoritative as well as the power at work saving everyone who believes. (2 Tim. 3:16; Rom. 1:16; Acts 2:42)

    3.  Multiplication: We are a church committed to seeing people come to know God (evangelism), grow in their relationship with God (establishing), understand their unique place to serve (equipping), and sending them out to do the work of the ministry (extending) in a way that reproduces the process into the lives of others who will do the same. (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:47; 2 Tim 2:2, Eph 4:11-13; Matt 28:18--20; 1 Cor 15:58)

    4.  Leadership: We are a church committed to Christ as the head of the church and all its members living in submission to His will and good pleasure with the understanding that the Christian model of leadership is seen through the believer being willing to deny him/herself for the sake of God's Kingdom, which  is embodied in servant hood.  {Eph 1:22-3; Matt 20:25-28; Mark 12:28-31; Acts 20:24)

    5.  Community:  We are a church committed to being an authentic community which relates to one another the way Jesus relates to us, with grace.  (Matt 5:13-16; John 1:16; Acts 2:46-47; 1 Peter 2:2)

    6.  Relevance:  We are a church committed to being culturally relevant and evaluating constantly, seeing change as a part of life, so that we can offer ministries that edify God, build the believer, are welcoming to the spiritually curious, are marked by celebration and creativity, and are done with excellence under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  (1 Chron 12:32)
